Camera Bag

What's in my camera bag is pretty different than what's in my camera basket on my bookshelf (i.e. what I carry around with me is different than what I own.)  But I'm here to show you both.

(PS - I'm no pro, but I like being nosy about what other people are doing, so I don't mind if you're nosy about what I'm doing.)

The Bag

I've been carrying around this BBP DSLR Sling Bag as my camera bag for a while now and I'm pretty happy with it.

I will admit that I don't actually carry it around a lot...as in, I don't necessarily put it around my body and hike or anything. I keep the stuff I want with me at all times in it, and I throw it into the car, then carry it into wherever we're going (usually a family party).  If I do start carrying it, I will let you know how it goes.

I'll say, though, that I'm pretty happy with the amount of space it has, the compartments, etc.

Now I'll tell you what's in it.

In my camera bag:

My camera: Nikon D5100

I can't say enough how much I love my camera.

my Nikon D5100 with Tamron 18-200mm lens, 77mm step up ring, and SB400 flash

Lately I've been carrying 2 lenses around with me, one attached to my camera, and one in my bag.

Nikon 35mm f1.8

Tamron 18mm-200mm

On each of my lenses, I have a clear protective filter, and sometimes a step-up ring (so they can use 77mm filters.)

In my camera, I use an 8gb Eye-Fi card. (Automatic/wireless photo uploading to my netbook is amazing!)

I've got an extra battery charger and extra battery with me.

I also always have my trusty SB-400 flash with me, in the bag or on the camera.

I bought these containers to hold my rechargeable AA batteries fort the flash. I labeled one "charged" and one "drained"

I've got 2 ML-L3 remotes - one in my camera bag and one in my purse. This guy I can never be without. :)

I also carry a few filters with me: a star filter, an 81A warming filter, and a polarizing filter.  Just for fun!

I like my BBP DSLR Sling Bag because there's also a slot for my trusty netbook (or an iPad/tablet).

In my camera basket:

Nikon 18-55mm VR (i.e. the lens that probably came with your camera)

This is a great lens that I'll always hang on to. Sometimes I think it focuses faster than my Tamron, and it's much lighter weight, so when I'm just taking pictures of things around the house or anywhere where I don't need the long zoom, I put this trusty guy back on my camera.

When I first got my camera, I got these two books, which both came with a useful gray card (for white balancing). I still reference them when I need to!

Neewer 5-in-1 Collapsible Reflector

Holga Lens: I just got this toy lens to play with and it's been fun.

((more camera basket coming soon!))

I like to talk about my boyfriend of a camera a lot: read about it here, here, and here.

  1. For this kind of gadget, I can recommend the
water proof camera bag what I bought. I'm very satisfied and now I know why they are very recommendable. By the way, thank you for sharing this post.
